Hackers suck

Blah.  I hate hackers.  No, not the white hat ones that are cool and helping corporations, or the glamorous ones that Hollywood likes to portray in movies like Hackers or Tron or Swordfish, magically sifting through and finding loopholes in code in some glorified graphic world as they defeat some sinister agenda .  No … I hate the imbecile kiddie black hat hackers that have a ton of time and boredom and exist to just be a pain in your butt and annoy your daily life.  Why you may ask?  Well … I just spent the last 1.5 hours or so hardening my WordPress instance and cleaning up my database and posts because apparently my posts got hacked.  I apparently got hacked awhile ago before WordPress had released an update to fix one of their security holes a year ago, and all of my past posts have had random drug advertisements inserted into the body of their … Continued

Occipital’s 360 Panorama

Man I am awful at keeping this whole blogging thing up-to-date! HULU UPDATE: As an update on the whole Hulu thing, they had apparently delayed the launch of the pay service (which they’re branding as Hulu Plus) and people can still use the site to see most of the content for free.  I really haven’t had a need to go with Hulu Plus yet, but some of the benefits that make that $9.99 monthly fee worthwhile would be the ability to view Hulu on your iPad, iPhones, internet TVs, and gaming consoles.  Maybe when I want to stream content directly to my PS3, I’ll sign up for it … some day … OCCIPITAL LAUNCHES NEW IPHONE APP: And now onto the main topic of the day.  I don’t know if you all heard, but the folks over at Occipital had sold off their Red Laser application to eBay (congrats guys!). … Continued

Another big Hulu-baloo!

Wow … it’s been a really long time since I last updated this blog and website! Since my last post oh-so-long-ago, I’ve been up mucking it up and doing the following tiny things: Went to the 2009 CES show thanks to my former boss (Rob you are my hero!).  Took a bunch of photos and posted those to Facebook awhile ago so click the link above if you’re interested. Moved out to Los Angeles for a new manager role in charge of our archival quality and content management operations here at NBCU back in November 2009 Found an awesome apartment right in Hollywood near my favorite haunts. Been staring hours on end at value stream maps, process maps and workflows, storage volumes, spot checking videos, and playing with lots and lots of excel … oh my! Went snowboarding any free day during the weekend that I could get away from … Continued

Liucid.com … now brought to you in 100% WordPress!!

It’s been awhile since I last touched the site, and not that any of you out there actually care, but I’ve now converted my whole site onto the WordPress platform rather than just the blog itself!  Ok … well maybe I still have some non-WordPress pages, but for the most part it’s cleared!   *Hooray and  let the celebrating commence* All the previous HTML pages that I had should now be converted into nice, clean, easy to manage PHP WordPress pages.  Some of the content on there has also been updated, such as my Experience page and the landing page.  But hopefully nobody noticed the transition phase from yesterday to today. For those of you that may be wondering, “Why does this matter at all?  It still looks the same.”, this mainly gives me a simple Content Management System (CMS) to manage all my pages and information easily through the … Continued

Site Updates

Hey everyone!  It’s been a bit since my last update and … well … I made a few changes.  I’m just taking this opportunity to play around with web design again, while at the same time updating my portfolio as I begin to look for off-program positions.  If you haven’t really noticed much that is different then I’m glad! Removed my RSS feed gadget – I mean who really is going to come here to read that anyways! Migrated hosts – Nxserve just wasn’t reliable/profitable enough so they actually shut down.  They were good while they lasted though …  However, now onto newer and better things with Webhostingpad.  They’ve been great so far, and best of all they’re really cheap (only $1.99 per month including a free domain!).  Despite the price, they still providing plenty of tools like Cpanel 11, unlimited DB, unlimited email, unlimited space, unlimited bandwidth, and a … Continued
