“The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn’t think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential.” – Steve Ballmer

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am an entrepreneur and technologist born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.  I have had a passion for business and technology from an early age, as shown through my web design company that I started up in high school and my multitude of work experiences ranging from investments, engineering embedded systems, and Information Technology.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, focused primarily in the advanced embedded systems area. Following my degree, I decided to follow my interest in media and technology and joined NBC Universal/General Electric’s Information Management Leadership Program. This program provided me with the perfect balance between business and technology, and has helped me to establish a strong groundwork in the media and entertainment industry.  Upon graduation from the program, I took an Operations Manager role for a new digital distribution venture that I was attempting to launch in NBCU.  This experience helped to hone my technology and business skills in  more of a start-up environment.  This initiative eventually ended, and I then transitioned into a Manager position in our Digital Asset Management (DAM) and entertainment work flow organization.  In this group I helped to develop our new archival master file quality processes, and built up and managed our team of operators.  This experience gave me more of an operations expertise to complement my technology and business skills.

Currently, I am an Associate Director at Cognizant Technology Solutions within their Digital Media Consulting practice.  I am continuing to broaden my experiences in the media and entertainment area on both the technology and strategy side, while still leveraging everything I have learned thus far. My future goals are to continue building my business and technology experience in the media and technology industry, and make an impact on the future of digital media and entertainment.

As for my hobbies and other interests, I have several. I love to snowboard and hike (preferably on the West Coast). I like to explore new ethnic foods and have a strong appreciation for good food. As a result, I also like to dabble in cooking, although I don’t watch cooking shows. And I am a huge fan of watching my favorite TV shows on Hulu and Netflix.
